Gianardi Construction, an eclectic design-build firm, joined with Archaeo Architects’ Jon Dick to create a premier Santa Fe custom home in sync with a modern sensibility. The team, led by Gianardi Construction, came up with innovative solutions honoring livability, simplicity, architectural definition, and natural mountain living—from the boardwalk entry, which meanders through 100-year-old forest vegetation, to the grandeur of glass walls overlooking the horizon. The methods and processes articulate fine architecture, cutting-edge technology, open and flowing spaces, and a healthy approach.
The high-elevation site, which is covered in lichen rock and offers 180-degree views northwest to the Colorado border, inspired the architecture. The clients’ desire for minimal disturbance, indoor/outdoor integration, and unmatched craftsmanship informed the modern palette of finishes and materials.
The design frames views from every created space, with an eye toward simplicity, understated elegance, and calm. The finest craftsmanship underscores but does not compete with the overall feeling of serenity and rootedness in the site.
